Apple crisp is one of our favorite fall desserts. But all that butter in the topping was too much! Here's a fatfree replacement that's every bit as good as the original, if not better... ------------- Apple Crisp Peeled, cored, sliced apples 1/3 cup water 3/4 cup flour 1 cup sugar 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup applesauce 1/2 cup rolled oats (more?) Fill a 13x9x2 baking dish with sliced apples (Cortland apples work very well in this dish). Sprinkle the water over the apples. Mix together the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, applesauce and oats. Blend until it is a paste and spread it evenly over the apples. Bake at 350F (180C) for 30 to 45 minutes, or until slightly browned on the top.
